The composition of chemical wastewater coatings is complex and challenging to handle. Wuyuan Environmental Protection has summarized common coatings, paints, water-based paints, and powder coatings in numerous practical projects. Most coatings are made from resin, oil, or emulsion. Various pigments, fillers, and corresponding additives, as well as organic solvents or water, are added according to production needs.
There are two main sources of paint wastewater, one of which is the wastewater generated during the production process, and the other is the wastewater generated during the cleaning of paint tanks and containers. The wastewater produced by the former is the primary one among them, and many chemical raw materials, such as synthetic resins, organic solvents, and various additives, are often produced during manufacturing.
Paints produced by different companies vary, and the composition of chemical wastewater also differs. Wastewater produced by ordinary paint manufacturers mainly contains pigments, fillers, resins, mineral oils, vegetable oils and saponifiers, alkalis, etc. Manufacturers of oil-based paints generate chemical wastewater with suspended substances from the above materials, which include hydrophilic resin, and the wastewater has a saline state. Most chemical wastewater from paints also contains organic substances such as phenol, formaldehyde, and benzene.
Existing wastewater treatment methods mainly include the following methods for treating chemical wastewater:
Firstly, the physical method is divided into the air flotation method, coagulation method, adsorption method, extraction method, membrane separation method, and so on. The physical treatment method is mainly used for preliminary treatment or single-stage treatment in the processing of paint chemical wastewater, which can effectively remove suspended solids, solid substances, pigment pigments, and heavy metals in the wastewater.
Secondly, the biological method is divided into the activated sludge method, biofilm method, and so on. The biological treatment method mainly decomposes toxic and harmful substances in chemical wastewater through the metabolism of microorganisms.
