This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, coinciding with a new phase of high-quality development under CPEC 2.0. On May 13, His Excellency Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, attended an event by a Chinese enterprise in Islamabad and stated that the friendship and all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China have stood the test of time and are based on a solid foundation. He emphasized that the two countries are now entering a new phase of cooperation in the field of the digital economy.

Earlier that day, IBI Pakistan Digital Headquarters of Beijing United Information Technology Co., Ltd. (IBI) was officially inaugurated in Islamabad. His Excellency Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Officials from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, representatives of Pakistani ministries and government agencies, as well as delegates from over 200 leading enterprises from both countries gathered to witness this significant moment in China-Pakistan cooperation in the digital economy.

“The inauguration of the IBI Digital Economy Headquarters is another milestone in the friendship between Pakistan and China,” said Dar. “Today, we are transitioning from roads to networks, from physical infrastructure to digital architecture. We are building the Digital Silk Road.”

His Excellency Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, noted that the stable, healthy, and dynamic development of IBI serves as a bridge and link between enterprises of both countries. Through deep involvement in digital industrial cooperation between China and Pakistan, IBI has helped transform diplomatic achievements into tangible results of industrial cooperation.

“China’s mature industrial chains, supply chain advantages, and digital operational capabilities closely align with Pakistan’s urgent needs for industrial modernization and digital transformation,” said Qian Xiaojun, founder and CEO of IBI.

He emphasized that Pakistan is a strategic gateway for IBI’s deep participation in the markets of the Belt and Road Initiative. The newly inaugurated IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters will provide comprehensive services to enterprises of both countries, covering cross-border trade, intelligent logistics, and the development of digital supply chains. The platform will also promote exchanges through business cooperation mechanisms between China and Pakistan and comprehensively support the development of the industrial ecosystem and mutually beneficial growth.

Currently, China and Pakistan are actively implementing the Action Plan for Building an Even Closer China-Pakistan Community with a Shared Future in the New Era (2025–2029), while simultaneously advancing the development of the Digital Silk Road and CPEC 2.0.

According to the organizers, over 110 cooperation agreements were signed during the event. The strong momentum created by the deep integration of China’s high-quality industrial potential and digital technologies with Pakistan’s local industries continues to inject fresh digital energy and industrial vitality into the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan in the new era.
